The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna River in the city of Agra, India.

It was commissioned in 1632 by Emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The tomb is the centerpiece of a complex that includes a mosque and a guest house. Its construction value transferred to today would be 750 million euros.
