6.-THE CHRIST THE REDEEMER (BRAZIL)

 Between 1922 and 1931 this art deco statue of Jesus Christ was created in Rio de Janeiro by Polish-French sculptor Paul Landowski and engineers Heitor da Silva Costa and Albert Caquo.

The statue weighs 635 tons and is located on top of Corcovado Mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park. A symbol of Christianity throughout the world, the statue has also become a cultural icon of both Rio de Janeiro and Brazil.
